I am really excited for you to try my handmade Glow Butter. I know that you are going feel, and see amazing results like I have! The easiest way to see your results is to take a before picture, and then compare each week while taking note of sunspots, freckles, wrinkles, and scars. Name one skin care company that actually asks you to take a picture to compare your results! I am asking because I believe in Glow Butter, and I am very confident that you will see your skin changes when you go back and compare your pictures. My skin has taken about six weeks to fully heal from all of the damage and even now, after two years, my skin is still getting better.
I think you are going to be surprised that something so simple and all natural, can really help get your skin into great, if not amazing, shape! Also included are a few recipes for homemade masks and a homemade body scrub. I make Glow Butter in small batches and I use every batch on my skin, and on my children's skin. There are no synthetic fragrances or harmful toxins and chemicals in Glow Butter. It is 100% all natural and vegetarian.
I use Glow Butter (sometimes) twice a day on my face, once a day on my body. I recommend using it on the entire body, that skin ages and needs love too. Remember that little goes a long way, especially when used on your face. One 4oz jar can last for over 3-6 months if only used on your face. I have had a few women tell me that their jars lasted a year because they only used it on the face!
First things first, EXFOLIATE! A simple sugar scrub, salt scrub, or warm washcloth will help. You don't need to do this every time, just for the first week or two until the Glow Butter starts turning your skin over faster. You'll be able to feel in a week or so if your skin needs a good scrub because the Glow Butter will feel like its just sitting on top of your skin instead of being absorbed. I use my new Sunshine Glow cleansing oil when I wash because it gently exfoliates the skin every time I wash. You can find out more about it on my website.
When you first apply Glow Butter, you're going to warm it up by rubbing it in your hands. You may feel really oily, and it may feel a little strange at first. Everything that is in Glow Butter has low pore-clogging properties. Jojoba oil is the closest oil to your own natural sebum and actually helps flush out your pores. You'll notice in about 20-30 minutes that initial oiliness is going to get absorbed by your skin and you'll be left with a nice sheen or glow. You can then take what is left on your hands and rub into the ends of your hair or massage into cuticles. If you still feel oily after 20-30 minutes then you've probably used too much, or it is time to exfoliate again. Glow Butter is also great to apply a little heavier before bed when your skin naturally heals itself as you sleep. You can also use it immediately before, or after applying any of your other serum, sunscreens, or alpha hydroxy.
About once a month I use an alpha hydroxy with my Glow Butter, I find that when used it helps to knock off that top layer of dead skin. Here is a simple all natural recipe that can easily be made at home.
Gentle Lemon and Honey Face Peel
2 tablespoons raw organic sugar2 tablespoons raw honeyjuice of ½ lemon
You will want to apply a sunscreen anytime you use a peel because it will make you burn easily. To make it you will combine the sugar and honey in a bowl. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon and mix well. Apply to the face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Rinse with warm water after 5-10 minutes.
Another natural (very messy) exfoliating scrub is to use about 1-2 tablespoons of leftover coffee grounds mixed with a tablespoon of coconut oil, olive oil, or almond oil. (the caffeine in coffee stimulates the blood flow and helps with cellulite) You can also use this on your face, just be gentle.
For my acne friends, don't feel bad, we all go through it from time to time. I developed adult acne once I hit my 40's probably due to hormones. I won't complain because until that point I have had clear skin my entire life. Here are some tips on how I got my skin clear again. I use a Dr. Woods, Black African soap with Shea butter (Google Dr. Woods Shea Vision) you can find it in a natural grocery store. It helps with acne as well as fine lines and there are no toxins or harmful chemicals like the ones found in other soaps. Wash the entire face and body with it. You can also follow up with a witch hazel cloth on your face to get rid of excess dirt and the bad oils. Then apply Glow Butter. The witch hazel is amazing and again it's all natural. Keep a spray bottle in your gym bag or purse, then spray some on a cloth and give your face a once-over if you've sweat. Follow up with the Glow Butter. Go light, I can't stress how a little goes a long way on the face. Now the body is a different story; I slather it on thick!
